Approach

The Inspired Community Project

We provided the underwriting support to launch The Inspired Community Project (TICP), a Bronx-based organization addressing the severe shortage of early intervention services for neurodiverse children from birth to age three. The Bronx has the highest referral rate for such services in New York State but also the lowest participation rate due to a lack of providers. TICP responds to this gap through a clinic-based model that delivers direct services while training local residents to become Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), building a sustainable, community-based workforce.

Our challenge grant supported the launch of TICP’s first center, now a fully operational therapeutic clinic serving children who were previously on waitlists. The workforce program trains and employs local residents full-time while they work toward certification, offering hands-on experience, paid employment, and career advancement opportunities.

TICP’s diversified revenue model operates across five diversified revenue streams: ACS and HRA vouchers, DOE Related Service Agreements (RSAs), Medicaid, private insurance, and private pay. TICP projects that it is on track to reach its goal of 80% earned revenue and 20% philanthropy in perpetuity.
