Our funding helped St. Nicks Alliance scale its Building Maintenance training track for youth and young adults. This program provides young people with certifications in high-demand building-operations and maintenance credentials (such as OSHA 30, EPA 608, GPRO Mechanical and Building Operations & Maintenance) and integrates employer-informed curricula designed for energy-efficient, climate-resilient buildings. Graduates are placed into entry-level roles in building operations and maintenance with employer partners, while receiving wrap-around supports to help them sustain employment and advance.
St. Nicks Alliance’s model of employer-linked, skills-plus-support training exemplifies our venture-philanthropy approach — bridging technical training in a growing sector with dedicated supports for youth from high-barrier backgrounds.
