National Dance Institute

The National Dance Institute (NDI), founded in 1976 by New York City Ballet principal dancer Jacques d’Amboise, serves over 6,500 students in school-based programs each year through partnerships across the New York City region. The Foundation has provided catalytic funding to NDI for over 25 years, helping it to establish a permanent home at the Center for Learning and the Arts on West 147th Street, which includes the Virginia Sloane Studio, and in expanding its reach by collaborating beyond NYC in partnership with the Miami City Ballet, which allows NDI to share its curriculum. NDI conducts matched studies to assess the impact of its programs.
